Drawing from the more than ten photobooks he has published to date, Andreas Trogisch presents three examples that could not be more diverse: ranging from an associative visual essay and a book consisting of a single image to a story of the world’s creation structured according to a strictly pseudo-systematic approach.

This inaugural Berlin Photo Book Summer—comprising the Photo Book Days, the exhibitions, and the festival program—is organized by musuku – Museum der Subkulturen. The Thousandfold Photobook Fair, held as part of the Photo Book Days, is conceived and organized by DieNacht e.V.

With remarkable energy, musuku (Museum of Subcultures) is launching the “Berlin Photo Book Summer” this year—a most welcome initiative that injects fresh momentum into the scene after a perceived decline in photobook festivals over the past decade—and it is finally happening right here in Berlin.* A huge thank you goes to Anke Fesel and Chris Keller, who, among many other things, are the editors of the books “Berlin Wonderland” and “Berlin Heartbeats”!
The exhibition “Hidden Treasures” showcases photographs of Berlin from the 1990s—most of which do not appear in those books—including four cityscapes by Andreas Trogisch (though these can be found in his book Vineta).

A highlight of the Photo Book Summer will be the Thousandfold Photobook Fair, taking place on August 12 and 13 in the foyer of the State Library (Staatsbibliothek). Naturally, the small, exquisite publishing house BlottoBooks will also be represented there. Further events for the Photo Book Summer can be found on the musuku website.

BlottoBooks Berlin and ParisBerlin›Fotogroup present a group exhibition featuring works by Linn Schröder and Anne Schönharting, Vincent Kohlbecher, and Andreas Trogisch.

The series “ Something Is Shifting” (Schröder/Schönharting), “On Circular Arc Phenomena” (Kohlbecher), and “Talking About Trees” (Trogisch) revolve around reality and imagination, historical reflection and visionary outlooks—and, ultimately, our failure to fully comprehend the world. The quest for certainty breeds hubris: the fatal belief that one can master the incomprehensible. The works speak of the proximity of the abyss and the ceaseless attempt to resist it.

Vincent Kohlbecher’s work is being published by BlottoBooks under the title  A More Or Less Visual Companion of Mr. P.’s Fairy Tale On Circular Arc Phenomena. An advance copy was presented at the exhibition.

BlottoBooks is once again participating in the Festival Off Arles.

From 6–10 July, we will present recent work by Linn Schröder & Anne Schönharting, Vincent Kohlbecher, and Andreas Trogisch at “Casa dell’Arte”.

Vincent Kohlbecher traces the path of Thomas Pynchon’s novel “Gravity’s Rainbow”. The photographs coalesce into a fantastic artistic achievement—a visual echo of one of the 20th century’s most enigmatic novels. As in Pynchon’s work, facts, projections, and fictions overlap; the impression remains ambivalent, and reality fragile.

As part of the exhibition ‘Berliner Mischpoke’, Blotto Books is presenting the second edition of Holger Biermann’s New York book Leaving Today about September 11, 2001, which was shortlisted for the Luma Dummy Award last summer and whose first edition sold out within three months.

In this exhibition, Galerie Franzkowiak presents works by ParisBerlin›Fotogroup members Holger Biermann, Angelika Platen, Sebastian Rosenberg, and Andreas Trogisch alongside images by Rallye Vincent and Heike Grebin. The themes range from street photography to portraits, from music to magic, from representational to abstract. Distant yet related—a true mishpoke.

The exhibition is part of the Festival OFF Arles 2025 (Gallery Nr. 52).
